Failed the theory test: what should you do next?
Use the result to decide what needs to change in your preparation. Another attempt is most useful after you have addressed the reasons for the mistakes.

Changes to accepted identification
Bank cards, Norwegian Armed Forces ID cards and Norwegian seafarers’ discharge books will no longer be accepted at driver and vehicle licensing offices. This is shown as a future rule and does not change current answers before it takes effect.

The general waiting period is two weeks. Statens vegvesen lists one week for C, CE, D and DE. Check the information for your exact test when booking rather than applying the category B waiting period to every category.
Use the result to guide your revision
Look at the topics where you made mistakes. Note whether the issue was rule knowledge, unfamiliar wording or time pressure. Revise broadly when errors are spread across subjects; start with a specific topic when mistakes are concentrated there.
Make the next study period different
- Read and explain the feedback before starting another set of tests.
- Say difficult terms aloud and create your own examples.
- Use new formulations rather than repeating one familiar test.
- Consider read-aloud support or an application for an assisted test.
- Take a full mock test in calm conditions before rebooking.
A new attempt and a new fee
You must pay for another official test. Prioritise readiness over the earliest available appointment, and ask your instructor to help assess difficult topics.
