At an ordinary written test, you can ask for the questions and answer options to be read aloud in Norwegian Bokmål and for an additional 15 minutes. These two measures do not require an advance application, but ask the testing officer before the test time runs out.
Other assistance requires an application and supporting documentation. Interpreter-assisted tests are available only for B, AM146, AM147, T, A1, A2, A and S; they are not available for C1, C, CE, D1, D or Driver CPC. If approved, you book and pay for the interpreter yourself. Some listed test centres offer an assisted oral test with an English-speaking examiner.
For category B, there are 45 questions, 90 minutes and a requirement of at least 38 correct answers. Motorcycles use 40 questions with at least 34 correct. Mopeds and snowmobiles use 30 questions with at least 25 correct. Other categories have their own formats.
