Moped licence in Norway – AM146
AM146 primarily covers two-wheeled mopeds. The minimum age is 16, and the theory test is the final test after the required training. A moped is not permitted to be capable of exceeding 45 km/h.

Bank cards, Norwegian Armed Forces ID cards and Norwegian seafarers’ discharge books will no longer be accepted at driver and vehicle licensing offices. This is shown as a future rule and does not change current answers before it takes effect.

Before booking the final moped theory test
AM146 ends with theory after the required training. On Your Page, check that training is registered, the conduct check is approved and you will be 16 on test day. A booking or an online course does not by itself satisfy these conditions.
Use the free sample to identify situations needing more work. For a moped, explain your road position, how you detect hazards beside parked cars and what you do when others overtake. Practise choosing a safe response even when you have priority but have not been seen.
How to prepare
Focus on being visible, road position and how to respond when faster vehicles approach. Learn to anticipate doors opening, turning vehicles and slippery surfaces. Explain a safe choice before looking at the answer options.

Yes. AM146 is listed among the ordinary theory tests available in English.
Using the online course
Choose English in the course view and work through the reading and practice questions. Explain your decisions before checking the answer. Keep a short list of Norwegian terms you need to recognise, such as vikeplikt, tillatt totalvekt and veigrep.
The practice questions are written for learning. They are not the confidential questions used by Statens vegvesen. A good practice score helps identify progress but does not guarantee a pass.
Training, prices and official requirements
Kurskompis provides optional theory practice. Driving lessons, mandatory courses, medical requirements and official tests are separate. For motorcycle categories, the course is shared between A1, A2 and A. YSK practice is not approved initial or periodic CPC training.
Before booking, confirm the category, your age and existing entitlements with an approved driving school or Statens vegvesen. Ask for an itemised training quote rather than assuming that a theory-course price is the total licence cost.

Does this course give me a Norwegian driving licence?
No. It supports theory study. You must satisfy the official training and test requirements.
Are the official test questions included?
No. Kurskompis uses its own practice questions and explanations.
Can I ride immediately after passing moped theory?
After passing, you must order your driving licence from Statens vegvesen before you can ride. Follow its instructions about the licence and proof of entitlement.
How many mistakes are allowed on the AM146 theory test?
The ordinary AM146 test has 30 questions and requires at least 25 correct answers, allowing up to 5 mistakes. The time limit is 60 minutes. This is the official format, not the ten-question sample.
