A1 is often described as a light-motorcycle or 125 cc licence. Start with the registration document: engine capacity, power and approval must fit A1. Check the actual motorcycle rather than assuming every bike advertised as a “125” has the same requirements.
The ordinary theory test is available from 15½. The licence requires age 16 and completion of the required training and tests. Our shared motorcycle practice covers risk, road position and riding principles; practical requirements follow your A1 training route.
Connect theory with observation and positioning in bends and junctions. Explain how you choose your entry speed before a bend with limited visibility. Discuss grip, braking and protective equipment with your instructor.
40 questions · 90 minutes · at least 34 correct.
Yes. A1 is one of the motorcycle theory tests available in English.
Choose English in the course view and work through the reading and practice questions. Explain your decisions before checking the answer. Keep a short list of Norwegian terms you need to recognise, such as vikeplikt, tillatt totalvekt and veigrep.
The practice questions are written for learning. They are not the confidential questions used by Statens vegvesen. A good practice score helps identify progress but does not guarantee a pass.
Kurskompis provides optional theory practice. Driving lessons, mandatory courses, medical requirements and official tests are separate. For motorcycle categories, the course is shared between A1, A2 and A. YSK practice is not approved initial or periodic CPC training.
Before booking, confirm the category, your age and existing entitlements with an approved driving school or Statens vegvesen. Ask for an itemised training quote rather than assuming that a theory-course price is the total licence cost.
710 questions in total, including road-sign practice, all with explanations, plus 60 lessons. Study in Norwegian or English on your phone or computer. Access costs NOK 399 for 6 months (183 days), with no automatic renewal.
Road-sign practice is included. The questions are written for learning and are not the official test bank. Mandatory driver training and official test fees are separate.
No. It supports theory study. You must satisfy the official training and test requirements.
No. Kurskompis uses its own practice questions and explanations.
Yes. A1, A2 and A share the Kurskompis motorcycle course. The sample contains ten motorcycle questions; it is not a full official theory test or a separate practical A1 course.
The ordinary A1 test has 40 questions and requires at least 34 correct answers, allowing up to 6 mistakes. The time limit is 90 minutes. This is the official format, not the ten-question sample. Check whether your upgrade route requires a theory test.
