Open the primary source ↗The registered vehicle category determines which entitlement you need to check.
Before a trip, establish both your driving entitlement and where riding is permitted. Category S does not provide unrestricted access to off-road areas or public roads. Plan the route, check local conditions and assess weather, visibility and the return journey. Passing an online course grants no riding permit.
If you are under 18, check the snowmobile’s power-to-weight ratio in its registration document. Before the theory test you must be 16, required training must be registered and the conduct check approved. S theory is the final test, so its timing must fit the complete training route.
Plan for weather, visibility, route changes and turning back. Learn how a passenger or sled affects control. Keep the right to operate the vehicle separate from permission to use a particular route or area.
30 questions · 60 minutes · at least 25 correct.
Yes. The ordinary category S theory test is available in English.
Choose English in the course view and work through the reading and practice questions. Explain your decisions before checking the answer. Keep a short list of Norwegian terms you need to recognise, such as vikeplikt, tillatt totalvekt and veigrep.
The practice questions are written for learning. They are not the confidential questions used by Statens vegvesen. A good practice score helps identify progress but does not guarantee a pass.
Kurskompis provides optional theory practice. Driving lessons, mandatory courses, medical requirements and official tests are separate. For motorcycle categories, the course is shared between A1, A2 and A. YSK practice is not approved initial or periodic CPC training.
Before booking, confirm the category, your age and existing entitlements with an approved driving school or Statens vegvesen. Ask for an itemised training quote rather than assuming that a theory-course price is the total licence cost.
556 questions in total, including road-sign practice, all with explanations, plus 36 lessons. Study in Norwegian or English on your phone or computer. Access costs NOK 299 for 6 months (183 days), with no automatic renewal.
Road-sign practice is included. The questions are written for learning and are not the official test bank. Mandatory driver training and official test fees are separate.
